Michael G. Ciccotti, M.D.

Dr. Michael G. Ciccotti, Chief of the Division of Sports Medicine at the Rothman Institute, is nationally recognized for his work in sports medicine.  He is the team physician for the Philadelphia Phillies and St. Joseph's University.

He graduated summa cum laude from both the College of the Holy Cross and Georgetown University Medical School. He then completed orthopaedic residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and was awarded a fellowship in sports medicine at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Sports Clinic in Los Angeles, CA. While there, he served as team physician assistant for all the Los Angeles Professional Sports Teams and the University of Southern California Athletic Program. He then returned to the Rothman Institute and Thomas Jefferson University where he now serves as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Jefferson Medical College, Co-Director of the Orthopaedic Residency Program and the 1998 President of the Jefferson Orthopaedic Society.

He has served as an orthopaedic consultant for the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Team and the Philadelphia Eagles Football team.

Dr. Ciccotti has published numerous papers on the treatment of sports injuries, authored in leading texts on the knee, shoulder and elbow, and lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on the full spectrum of sports medicine.

Dr. Ciccotti sees patients at the Rothman Institute's Center City Philadelphia and King of Prussia, PA locations.
