Emran S.  Sheikh, M.D.

Emran S. Sheikh, M.D.

Dr. Sheikh is a complex nerve specialist and hand surgeon.  Dr. Sheikh completed his undergraduate work at Pennsylvania State University and earned his M.D. from Thomas Jefferson University. Upon graduation, Dr. Sheikh received general surgery training at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, DE.  He completed a research fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.

After completing his specialty training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, Dr. Sheikh also completed fellowship training in injuries of the hand and wrist, peripheral nerve reconstruction (including brachial plexus injuries), and microsurgery.

Dr. Sheikh is an active member in numerous professional societies including the American Medical Association and is a fellow candidate for both the American Association for Hand Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

His scientific research earned a first place ranking for two consecutive years at the Basic Science Research Competition at Christiana Care Health System.  Additionally, he received the departmental award for clinical research during his training in St. Louis.  Dr. Sheikh’s collaborative writings have been published in both the American Journal of Physiology and the Annals of Surgery.

He sees patients at the Rothman Institute’s Voorhees, Egg Harbor Township, and Manahawkin, NJ locations.
