Non-operative Foot Callus/Corn Treatment

There are many ways that people can prevent and treat corns. Properly fitted footwear should provide extra room in the toe area. Shoes that are either too tight or too loose should be avoided. A shoe insert or an orthotic will help to absorb shock and shear forces. Tight socks or stockings should be avoided. In general, properly fitted footwear and hosiery will allow for a healthier environment for the foot.

Medicated pads and corn-removing solutions should be avoided. Such solutions can actually increase irritation and discomfort. Anyone with diabetes and/or poor circulation should never use any chemical agents to remove corns.
