For several years I was experiencing a significant deterioration of both of my knees. I am an athlete, playing basketball most of my life. After playing until I was 35 years old, I began a career as a basketball referee eventually advancing to the high school varsity and lower level women's college. During the 2014 - 2015 basketball season, I began to experience a significant increase in the discomfort in both knees. I did some research and determined that Rothman Institute was the best place to get things checked out. Ultimately, I was capable of getting an appointment with Dr. Good and once I sat down with him I was immediately impressed by his professionalism, his great bedside manner and his supreme confidence.
On May 26, 2015 I had my knees replaced at Bryn Mawr Hospital. After an extensive and extremely intense 3 month rehab, I was able to start running on the basketball court and eventually returned to refereeing for the 2015 - 2016 season on a reduced schedule.
This past season, 2016-2017, I returned to a full schedule and have never felt better. Dr. Good's skill as a surgeon gave me back my life. I am 62 years old and still running up and down the basketball court, it is truly amazing. Additionally, I am able to go to the gym without restrictions, play golf and spend many happy hours on my road bike. Overall, Rothman Institute has had an incredible impact on my life.
