Stretching is not only one of the most important approaches to treat Achilles tendonitis, but it is also an essential preventative practice.  Stretching prior to exercise will help to promote the ankle flexibility you need to avoid inflammation of the Achilles tendon.   
 
Surgical Achilles Pain Tendonitis Procedure
In more severe cases, a surgical Achilles pain tendonitis procedure may be the best option. The goal of this operation would be to repair or reconstruct damaged portions of the tendon.
