Rothman Institute Offer ImPACT Testing for Concussions

March 10th, 2014

Rothman Institute, the leading organization for orthopaedic science and technology, offers ImPACT testing for athletes. The ImPACT test is the most common and one of the most effective methods for analyzing concussions. Athletes who have suffered head trauma and are seeking the best methods in modern science to diagnose and gauge the severity of the injury should be evaluated at Rothman Institute.

ImPACT, or Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing, is a tried and true computerized method for evaluating the cognitive functions of a person who recently suffered head trauma and possible concussion. The test compares the cognitive function of an individual both before and after an injury for comparison testing. ImPACT typically tests patient’s verbal memory, visual memory, visual motor speed, and reaction via 6 different modules. The results are then analyzed and interpreted by a Rothman Institute concussion doctor to uncover the best form of treatment and recovery.
The Rothman Institute is dedicated to providing communities with high quality musculoskeletal care. They are committed to utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and the latest evidence-based medicine to offer patients a full array of effective and innovative orthopaedic care. Rothman Institute is proud to offer ImPACT testing as a part of it’s concussion program. This test is part of ongoing effort to supply the best concussion treatment possible.
At Rothman Institute, helping athletes overcome concussions is just one piece of a bigger vision. Founded in 1970 by Richard H. Rothman, M.D., Ph.D., The Rothman Institute has since grown into a globally recognized leader in orthopaedic science and technology.
